BattleAx Bunny, (aka Mell) is a Trinidadian born, Canadian based Graphic Designer and interdisciplinary artist. She has been a professional designer for over 16 years and freelances in other areas whenever the opportunity arises; she is also an avid sculptor and textile artist that dabbles in 3d and html.
She loves that she can work in both traditional and digital mediums and is always on the look out for new things she can learn and incorporate into her practice.
She recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at School of Art, University of Manitoba and has started her Masters Degree in Fine Arts in Craft Media at AU Arts focusing on Trinidad and Tobago (and by extension, the rest of the Caribbean) folklore; she is also building a new portfolio website to showcase her design work and art.
She enjoys making space for up and coming artists and has created several opportunities for students at the School of Art, U of M, to exhibit their work off of campus grounds including District SOA (a collaboration with The Exchange Biz) and Nuit Blanche 2023. She is also a general board member of CARFAC Manitoba, and a member of several galleries and artist run centres.
